New app sets kids on the road to guerrilla geography

Launching on the 28 July, Mission:Explore London is the new, unique, free and alternative way for kids, families, tourists and locals to explore the capital.

Clad in our finest tricorns, eyepatches and moustaches we headed down to the Golden Hinde to celebrate the launch pirate style and see what all the fuss is about!

Mission:Explore, an iphone app and website, created by one of the UK’s top design agencies in partnership with The Geography Collective, represents the perfect antidote for bored kids during the school holidays.

Each mission involves some research, an experiment, creating something artistic or travelling in an alternative way. Including over 1,000 location-specific missions for kids (aged 7 to 97) to complete in central London – we’ve been freezing every time we go passed someone with a beard ever since and can’t wait to start seeing OAP’s in hoodies loitering on street corners.
